• Current weekly classes

I teach regular weekly classes on a Monday. There are breaks for Christmas, easter and the peak of the holiday season, but these classes run most weeks. You can either pay for the full term in advance to receive a discount, or pay on a week by week basis.

In order to prevent too much disruption. I can only accept new students into these classes before the half term break (13th February). This will allow me to concentrate on teaching material for regular attendees without going over basic moves every class.

    Term dates:

Autumn term runs until 12th December 2011
Spring term will start on 9th January 2012, and run until 26th March (with a break on 13th February for half term)

Beginners Bellydance Classes – Rising Sun Arts Centre, Silver Street, Reading

Learn the amazing art of bellydance for yourself!

Bellydance is a hugely varied form of dance, which is fun, challenging and can have a positive benefit on your physical and mental well-being. It’s a dance that can be enjoyed by anybody, with a strong community spirit and through which you can make lasting friendships.

This town centre class introduces you to the basic movements and steps in bellydance, as well as helping you become familiar with Middle Eastern music. Attention is paid to increasing students’ confidence and range of movement, allowing everyone to find their inner bellydance star! This class has been developed as a general introduction to bellydance, which students can use as a basis for any form of bellydance which they wish to specialise in later.

    Classes cost £5 per session.

Improvers/Intermediate Bellydance classes – Rising Sun Arts Centre, Silver Street, Reading

    Mondays at 8.30 – 9.30pm

    Taking it further.

If you’ve learned the basics and want to work on improving your technique, more complex variations and moves and have a thirst for more specific knowledge then this is the class for you. Building on the foundation that you learned in your beginners class we cover some of the harder moves that beginners tend not to learn, and start to look more at our anatomy as a means of developing good technique. More complex variations of basic moves will be added and there are transition, isolation and footwork drills to increase students’ ability to dance, rather than just perform moves in sequence. We also start to look at the different styles of bellydance, and what makes them unique.

This is not a beginners class, students should have taken at least a term of beginner level classes before the start this class. Please contact me if you have any questions.

    Classes cost £5 per session.
